Your mission
We’re on the lookout for a curious and hands-on Mechatronics Engineer to join our independent design studio in Shoreditch.
At Native, we combine magic and engineering to bring remarkable ideas to life. You’ll get stuck into physical and digital prototyping, working at the intersection of mechanical, electronic, and software engineering. This is a role for someone who loves to build, break, and rebuild things, always with a view to learning, improving, and pushing boundaries.
You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team crafting early-stage products, tangible MVPs, and future-defining experiences. From Arduino-fueled proof-of-concepts to beautifully machined assemblies, you'll be right at the heart of the making process – experimenting, iterating, and challenging what’s possible.
Your profile
Let’s skip the boring list of tools – we assume you know your way around CAD, a soldering iron, and a few boards like Arduino or Raspberry Pi. Instead, here’s a feel for the kind of engineer we hope is reading this:
- Inventive: You’re passionate about discovering new tech and using it to build useful, usable things. You love making, and you’ve probably got a few side projects on the go.
- Hands-on: Whether it’s hot glue or a disk sander, you’re at home in the workshop and love getting your hands dirty bringing ideas to life.
- Curious: You're the kind of person who pulls things apart just to see how they work. Learning something new? That’s the fun bit.
- Collaborative: You thrive in a team. Our Shoreditch studio is a hive of shared ideas, so being on-site and bouncing off others will bring out your best work.
- Pragmatic: You know when to chase perfection and when to ship the MVP. You’re fast, adaptable, and ready to iterate when feedback hits.
- T-shaped: You may come from mechanical, electronic, or software roots, but you’re excited to cross disciplines. That’s where the good stuff happens.
- Organised: You can juggle timelines, multitask projects, and still find time to help someone debug a circuit or calibrate a 3D printer.
